Magnolia Make Up Big Easy Collection

Just when I had written off most of the upcoming Mac collections (ahem, Hey Sailor – which will be staying with Mac as I see nothing drool-worthy), they hit me where I’m most weak. Mac decided to make limited edition complimentary lipglass and nail polishes for some of their most famous lipstick shades.  The collection has been dubbed the name “Fashion Sets”. The collection is broken up into 4 regions of the world, North Ameria, Asia Pacific, Europe & Africa (um, shouldn’t they be separate?), and Latin America & Middle East (again, wtf?).  7 Shades are in each region, with some shades appearing in multiple regions. Its about that time folks, out with the old – in with the new.

I have too much stuff that just sits around and never gets touched. Rather than let it sit around and collect dust, Im selling it to help finance my pockets on a (well deserved) get away trip with me and my BFF.

Shipping by USPS is included in the price of every item. I WILL NOT take off the shipping price if you buy more than 1 item. (shipping cost get up there!)

To Buy, fill out this form. I will inform you if the product is still available, then invoice you on pay pal. If you do not pay within 24 hours, I will re-list the item.

Whats for sale you ask?

Mac Mineralized Skinfinish

 Brunette – $25

Swatched like 2-3 times. No real usage.

So Ceylon – $22  SOLD

Swatched like 2-3 times. No real usage.

Gold Deposit – $7  SOLD

It fell off my vanity and broke. There are about 30 or so uses still left in the pan. Great for the summer, or to test the color out!

Petticoat – $25
Swatched like 2-3 times. No real usage. (didn’t like the color)

Warm Blend – $25
Swatched like 2-3 times. No real usage. (They say that the middle stripe is a 100% dupe of the elusive Metal Rock MSF)

Global Glow-$17  SOLD
Slight usage. Scraped it with the handle a make up brush, which is why it has a small dent in it.

Glorify Extra Dimension Skinfinish – $26  SOLD
Brand new in box. I brought it as a back up, but I know that only one of these will be used by me.

Mac Mineralized Blush

Grand Duo – $13 SOLD

Swatched 2-3x. No real usage

Love Joy – $12 SOLD

Used like 4 times.

Gentile- $12 SOLD

Used like 4 times.

Style Demon – $9 SOLD

Fell off my vanity, and a small chunk broke off. Other than that, perfectly fine.

A Little Bit of Sunshine -$13

Swatched 2-3x. No real usage. Reminds me of a smaller version of the  MSF natural/shimmer that came out a few years back.

Intenso- $13  SOLD

Swatched 2-3x. No real usage

Hot Planet – $10 SOLD

I don’t even remember what happened to this blush, but it has a few dings in it. Still almost like new.

Cheek & Cheerful -$13

Swatched 2-3x. No real usage.

Mac Powders/Blush/Highlight

Marine Life – $22

It pains me to sell this, but I really don’t use it. Most of the gold overspray is gone.

My Paradise- $25 SOLD

Lovely color, I just don’t use it. Like new.

Swatches: Nyx Matte Lipsticks

Posted on by Allie Posted in Show & Tell, Swatches | Leave a comment

I’ve had these babies for a little while now, and I figured it was time to share my thoughts on them – sort of.

These matte lipsticks had their NYX debut around early-mid 2011 (my brain is school logged, I cant remember the exact timing – sorry). Ever since I saw them I knew I was going to have to get my hands on them somehow because I love matte lipstick. Matte lips are beautiful in rich and playful colors, but to make a good one takes practice. Many mattes either fall in two catagories; too drying, & not “matte” enough, causing it to look more like a satin then a true matte. My criteria for a good matte lipstick is one that is truly matte, without being too drying (and all the rest of the stuff I look for in a good lippy such as longevity and price point).

This post is strictly swatches, as sadly I have not worn them on lip for a substantial amount of time to give fair judgement on them. I can however say that …

  • Some of these are more matte then others. Some of the colors remind me more of a satin finish.
  • out of the 15 of these that I own, my fav colors are Strawberry Daiquiri & Shocking Pink
  • Shocking Pink is close, but not a dupe to Mac’s wildly popular Candy Yum Yum lipstick. It actually reminds me of if Candy Yum Yum & Gladiola from the (Mac) Dame Edna collection a few years back had a baby.

Check out the swatches after the jump!

Mac Me Over Show & Tell

Posted on by Allie Posted in Show & Tell | Leave a comment

Hi everyone, long time no post eh? Well we’re trying super hard to get our acts together lol.

Let me compensate with this juicy little haul from the Mac Me Over collection. When I say little, I mean little. I perchased four things, from a collection with over 30 items. Yay me - budgetista!

First, lets start with some hard facts, MAC has increased the price of their shadows from $14.50 to $15.00 (BOO!). Now, this may not seem like a lot, after all its only 50 cents, but as someone who has seen MAC shadows come from $11.00 to now $15.00 it makes me want to shed a few tears. Its not like the quality is going up with the price. If anything, I long for the old mac formulas and finishes. Let me digress before I start going off topic too much.

This is not necessarily a “review” of the products, as I have not worn them on face yet. This is more like a show and tell if you would.

I’m a little under the weather, so no eye or lip swatches on my face. Sorry about that.

Anyway, I got three of the single eyeshadows, and one lipstick.
